1. What BuddySign Is

BuddySign is a private-beta witness evidence completion workflow for veteran VA disability lay and buddy statements. BuddySign is an independent, self-service tool and is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

BuddySign does not decide whether a statement should be submitted to VA. Detailed workflow materials are available only through an NDA-protected partner walkthrough.

2. What BuddySign Is Not

BuddySign is not:

• Part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
• A law firm
• A Veterans Service Organization
• A VA-accredited representative
• A claims agent
• A medical provider
• A claim-filing service
• A legal advice service
• A medical opinion service
• A guarantee of any VA decision, rating, benefit, effective date, or outcome

BuddySign does not represent veterans before VA. BuddySign does not file claims, appeals, Supplemental Claims, Higher-Level Reviews, Board appeals, or any other VA documents for users.

3. User Responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing all information before using, sending, downloading, saving, or submitting any document created with BuddySign.

You are responsible for making sure the statement is truthful, accurate, complete, and based on facts. Do not use BuddySign to create, send, sign, or submit false, exaggerated, misleading, or unsupported statements.

4. Witness Responsibility

A buddy, lay witness, family member, coworker, supervisor, or other witness must personally review the statement before signing.

The witness should sign only if the statement is true and based on what the witness personally knows, saw, heard, or observed.

The veteran must not sign for the witness. No user may forge, imitate, pressure, or misrepresent a witness signature.

5. No Legal, Medical, or Claims Advice

BuddySign may provide general educational information about witness statements and VA claim organization. That information is not legal advice, medical advice, a medical nexus opinion, or claim representation.

For legal advice, representation, or individualized claim strategy, contact an attorney, accredited claims agent, VSO, or other qualified professional.

For medical diagnosis, treatment, or medical nexus opinions, contact a qualified medical professional.

6. No Guarantee of VA Acceptance or Outcome

VA decides what evidence it accepts and how much weight to give that evidence. BuddySign does not guarantee that VA will accept, consider, rely on, or give any particular weight to a statement created through BuddySign.

BuddySign does not guarantee any VA rating, benefit, effective date, service connection decision, appeal result, or other outcome.

7. User Content

You may enter personal information, witness information, statement text, and other content into BuddySign. You are responsible for the content you enter.

By using BuddySign, you confirm that you have the right to enter and use the information you provide, and that the information is not knowingly false or misleading.

8. Sensitive Information Warning

VA claim materials can include sensitive personal, medical, and identifying information. Use caution when entering, emailing, sharing, downloading, or storing documents.

Do not email Social Security numbers, full VA claim files, medical records, or other highly sensitive documents to BuddySign support unless specifically requested through a secure process.

9. Prohibited Uses

You may not use BuddySign to:

• Create or submit false statements
• Forge or imitate another person's signature
• Sign on behalf of a witness
• Misrepresent a witness's knowledge
• Harass, threaten, or pressure a witness
• Upload or transmit malicious code
• Interfere with the security or operation of the service
• Use the service for unlawful purposes

10. Third-Party Services and Links

BuddySign may link to other resources including VA Claim Battle Buddy, VA.gov, and other third-party tools. BuddySign is not responsible for the content, policies, security, or practices of third-party services.

11. BuddySign SMS Program

BuddySign by Wright Digital Transformation Services may send one-time transactional SMS messages as part of the BuddySign workflow.

Messages are sent only when a BuddySign user requests SMS delivery and confirms that the recipient has agreed to receive the message.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.

BuddySign SMS messages are not marketing messages and are not used for promotional campaigns.

12. Optional Document Output Feature

BuddySign offers an optional document output feature to assist with formatting completed witness statements. When you use this feature, any sensitive identification information you enter is used only to generate the requested output and is not stored, retained, or associated with your BuddySign account after generation is complete. You are solely responsible for reviewing all generated documents for accuracy and completeness before use or submission.

13. Availability and Changes

BuddySign may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. Features may be added, removed, or modified.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

14. No Warranties

BuddySign is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every claim situation.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, BuddySign and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost-benefit damages arising from use of the service.

This includes, but is not limited to, VA claim outcomes, missed deadlines, evidence decisions, user errors, witness errors, data-entry errors, or reliance on documents created through BuddySign.
