About This Program
BuddySign by Wright Digital Transformation Services LLC may use SMS to send one-time transactional notifications as part of the BuddySign workflow.
BuddySign supports sending witness signing links by email or SMS. Email remains the default delivery method, and SMS is offered as an optional alternative where available. SMS delivery can depend on carrier filtering, so email remains available as a backup. BuddySign does not guarantee SMS delivery.
BuddySign SMS messages are transactional notifications only. They are not marketing messages, promotional campaigns, or advertising.
SMS Consent
BuddySign SMS is optional. BuddySign only sends SMS notifications when a user chooses SMS delivery and confirms that the recipient has expressly agreed to receive the message. SMS may be stopped at any time by replying STOP.
SMS Consent Flow
BuddySign SMS is optional. A BuddySign user can use email delivery instead of SMS, and a witness statement can be completed without SMS delivery.
Before SMS delivery can be used, the BuddySign user must obtain prior express consent from the witness to receive a one-time BuddySign SMS signing link for the specific statement. Consent may be obtained directly from the witness before the SMS is sent, such as by phone call, text message, email, or in-person conversation.
Inside the authenticated BuddySign app, the SMS option is not enabled unless the BuddySign user actively checks an unchecked consent box.
Exact in-app consent checkbox text:
“I have personally contacted this witness and they expressly agreed to receive this one-time BuddySign SMS signing link for this specific document. I understand that message and data rates may apply, that the witness may reply STOP to opt out, and that the witness may reply HELP for help.”
If the witness has not agreed to receive the SMS signing link, the BuddySign user must not enter the witness mobile number for SMS delivery and should use email delivery instead.
Public Consent Evidence for Carrier Review
The live SMS consent checkbox appears inside the authenticated BuddySign app, so this public page documents the consent flow for carrier review.
- Step 1.The BuddySign user creates a buddy or lay witness statement.
- Step 2.The BuddySign user chooses a delivery method for the witness signing link.
- Step 3.If SMS delivery is selected, the BuddySign user must enter the witness mobile number and actively check an unchecked SMS consent box confirming that the witness expressly agreed to receive the one-time SMS signing link.
- Step 4.BuddySign sends one transactional SMS signing-link notification for that specific document.
- Step 5.The witness may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
